HU offers many chances for international students to study in Utrecht for a short period of time – generally ranging from several months to one year – as part of an exchange or non-degree programme. HU has partnerships with universities around the world. As an exchange student from a partner university you are able to spend a semester or a year at HU by waiving tuition fee. On our international website you can find a listing of our exchange programmes and other short programmes.

HU also participates in the largest summer school in Europe, with over 3,000 students from all over the world. The Utrecht Summer School offers over 170 academic programmes in many areas.

Programmes for professionals

HU seeks to promote innovation in professional practice, and the development of talent through high-quality education and research. Our students include not only new entrants to the labour market, but also professionals who are already in employment and wish to update, refine, expand or deepen their existing knowledge and skills. You can find our offer in programmes for professionals on our (Dutch) website.
