Within the Utrecht region, HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht works closely with large and small companies, other knowledge institutions, partners in the education chain and government bodies. We invest in sustainable relationships with the world of professional practice which involve bringing together education, research and the world of professional work. Co-creation and co-production are key concepts in this. Our alumni are our natural partners in professional practice. Together we want to enhance the potential for innovation and development in the region.
With the combined efforts of industry, knowledge institutions like HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and government bodies in the region, the Economic Board of Utrecht (EBU) was established a few years ago. This organization aims to promote the economy in the Utrecht region, together with representatives from industry, knowledge institutions and government. The EBU is already supporting many regional initiatives. Also, by working together with professional practice - through research, internships, guest lectures and graduation projects, for example - HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht is having an impact on innovation and development in the region. Good examples of such partnerships are the Centres of Expertise and degree programmes developed in consultation with professional practice, such as the Rail Academy, which was founded together with ProRail.
HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht has a multitude of partners in the field of education and research. There is intense cooperation with the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMC Utrecht), the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) and Utrecht University (UU).
